Johnsville Brats from She Speaks
She Speaks sent us coupons to redeem for Johnsonville Brats. They, also, sent us a few recipes to try. Here is one we made:
Spicy Sausage Queso
1 pkg. (16 oz.) Johnsville Sausage or Brats
2 lbs melting cheddar cheese, cubed
1 jar (16 oz) chunky Salsa
1 tbsp fennel seed, crushed
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. anise seed crushed
1/4 tsp. dried basil
In a skillet, cook sausage; drain and slice. Place cheese in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on until melted, stirring as it melts. Stir in salsa, seasonings and sausage. Microwave 2 minutes longer or until thoroughly heated. Serve with Garlic Toast. Yummy and easy.
Silk Soy Milk Challenge
Bzz Agent Jono sent us some coupons for free Silk Milk. I especially like the Vanilla Almond Milk that Silk makes. So Yummy! One of my favorite Recipes is as follows:
1 Chai Tea Bag
16 ounces vanilla almond milk (or coconut milk)
Few drops of liquid stevia (or Truvia to taste) This is optional. I don't add this to my drink.
Nutritional Info: 80 Calories, 4 carbs, 2 fiber, 0 sugar
Way better nutritionally than an iced chai latte at Starbucks and it tastes just as good :) It's funny, too, the kids don't mind drinking the Almond Milk, because they think that even the non-chocolate versions taste like chocolate milk.

"No More Dreaded Mondays" by Dan Miller
I read the book "No More Dreaded Mondays" by Dan Miller. This book makes the case for why people should take a leap of faith out of their day to day job that they hate and seek a career that will be fulfilling. He makes the case for financial success when you spend time doing something that you love and are passionate about versus just a 'job'.
The author also encourages people to search for ways to earn money even when you're not working, for example selling a book, advertising or a 'how to' guide on line. This provides for value that doesn't require 'time in', 'money paid'--meaning you're getting paid even when you're not working.
Another key point of the book is that balance in your work life and family life is important. If you are successful in work, but are spending 80 hours per week doing it, you are missing out on so much in life.
Bigger is not always better. The author has no employees, he works from home and he makes a considerable amount of money doing it. He has less issues because he contracts with other people for work he needs done and never has to deal with employees. It's one more way to simplify life, but not sacrifice his career or earning potential.
This is a very good book and i'd recommend it to most people who dread Mondays.
